Kill Command (2016): You won’t believe its budget.

What is it about?

An elite team of soldiers goes to an island in the middle of nowhere to train their skills on some robots. After easily destroying some weak-ass robots, they get disappointed because they were expecting something more challenging. Luckily for them, there are more robots on the island who aren’t so harmless. In fact. they are deadly as hell. They become deadlier by the minute as they have a learning curve and ability to adapt. They’re pretty bad-ass.

In the first 5 minutes of the movie, it’s clear that most of the soldiers will experience a violent death. It’s that kind of movie. You just know it.

Who should watch it?

  • Should I watch it with my kid(s)?

No. There is lots of death and mayhem.

  • Is it good to watch on a date?

Only if you are both into sci-fi movies and Manly Men’s Movies That Are Manly.

  • Who should watch it?

Everyone who likes violent, action-packed sci-fi movies with intelligent, murderous robots.

What can I expect from this movie?

  • Will I fall off the couch laughing and have sore abs the next day due to laughing too hard?

  • Is my brain going to implode trying to figure out the movie?

No. It’s really simple.

  • Will I learn anything from this movie?

Don’t make killer robots. How many movies with killer robots does it take for people to learn?

  • Is it based on something?

It’s not a must-see.

To be recommended.

Judgment time!

With a budget of only $1,100,000, “Kill Command” has some pretty decent effects. Let’s face it, some movies spend more money on the buffet for extras. It’s not the best movie you will ever see but you have to applaud their ability to make a decent sci-fi with such a low budget. I’ve seen far worse sci-fi movies with a hell of a lot bigger budget than that.

Now, “Kill Command” is certainly not an original movie in any way but then again, not many movies are nowadays. Most of them use recycled scenarios with just a couple of tweaks. “Kill Command” is no different. With this budget, you really can’t expect much. However, this movie does have some entertainment value and it’s best to be seen as an easy, undemanding movie, suitable to kill some time. I give it 6/10.

  1. Haha that’s a cool way of reviewing. Really.

As for the movie, I agree with you – it’s flawed and borrows from everywhere, nevertheless it has its own heart and voice. I loved it, despite the drawbacks. It’s slowly paced and at times get almost meditative, which clearly isn’t a good thing for the big audience hence such a low rating like 5.7 on IMDb.
