7 Days in Hell (2015): Funny and weird side of tennis.

What is it about?

Two tennis players play the greatest tennis match in the history that lasted 7 days. One is a disgraced bad boy who everyone wants to fuck while the other is a young rising star, with an IQ of a damaged brick, and indubitably (which is his favorite word) one of the dumbest tennis players ever to have lived.

Shot as a mockumentary, “7 Days in Hell” shows us the weird side of tennis.

Who should watch it?

  • Should I watch it with my kid(s)?

On top of an impressive amount of swearing, one of the tennis players has sex with a girl on the tennis court during a match. And then with a guy. And then with both of them. So what do you think?

  • Is it good to watch on a date?

I guess. But only if you both like grotesque comedy with lots of foul language and nudity.

  • Who should watch it?

Anyone who is a fan of Lonely Island’s type of humor. There is a bit of Monty Python magic in this movie as well. Some of the Sacha Baron Cohen magic, too. So if that’s your thing…

What can I expect from this movie?

  • Will I fall off the couch laughing and have sore abs the next day due to laughing too hard?

“7 Days in Hell” was hilarious to me. It’s not for everyone, that’s for sure.

  • Is my brain going to implode trying to figure out the movie?

No.

  • Will I learn anything from this movie?

Yes. Having sex on a Wimbledon court during a tennis match is perceived as a heinous act.

  • Is it based on something?

No.

  • Is this movie a must-see?

It’s a funny movie but it’s not a must-see.

Judgment time!

This a rather short but very funny comedy. As I said before, it probably won’t be to everyone liking (no comedy ever is), especially for people who like comedies with more finesse and elegance.

“7 Days in Hell” is as raw as they come. But hey, you should’ve known what to expect when you saw that Andy Samberg is in it. So if you didn’t like it, that’s on you. I liked and I give it 8/10.
